Geofencing — Location-Locked Punching
Set a GPS boundary per site (as tight as 10m). Employees outside that radius are blocked from clocking in — no matter what device they use or where they are. Each site has its own radius, so a small restaurant uses 25m while a large warehouse uses 200m.
Kiosk Shortcut — One Tap to Punch
Generate a site-specific URL or install the PunchClock app as a desktop/home screen icon. Employees tap it and land directly on the punch page — no login, no navigation, no confusion. Managers set it up once per device.

GPS apps sound convenient — until employees clock in from their car, their couch, or three blocks away. PunchClock's PIN terminal is physically at your location. No app. No phone. No doubt.
The tablet stays at your site. Employees can only punch in when they're physically there — not from a parking lot, not from bed. GPS can be spoofed. A fixed terminal can't.
Not every employee has a smartphone, data plan, or the latest OS. One shared tablet covers your entire team — no installs, no updates, no compatibility issues.
No app to install, update, or troubleshoot. No "my GPS was off" excuses. Employees enter their PIN and go. Admins get clean, reliable punch data every time.
Each employee has a unique PIN, and clocking in for someone else requires being physically at the terminal — far harder to abuse than a mobile app shared over text.
Employees can only punch where they work.
Geofencing draws an invisible GPS boundary around each of your locations. Clock in/out only works inside that boundary — whether an employee is on a shared terminal or using a saved shortcut link on their phone.
In the Sites settings, toggle Geofence ON, click "Use my current location" while standing at the site, and drag the radius slider. Default is 25m — ideal for a restaurant or retail store. Warehouses and large sites can go up to 500m. One map preview shows exactly what's covered.
When an employee taps IN or OUT, their device's GPS is checked silently in the background. If they're inside the boundary, the punch goes through instantly. If they're outside — whether at home, in a car, or at another location — the punch is blocked with a clear message showing exactly how far away they are.
Each punch record stores the GPS coordinates, accuracy, and distance from the site boundary. Admins can review exactly where an employee was when they clocked in — a full location audit trail for every punch.
If GPS is unavailable or denied by the employee's device, the punch is blocked entirely. Best for sites where location accuracy is critical and you want zero exceptions.
If GPS is unavailable, employees see a warning but the punch still goes through. Ideal for sites with poor indoor GPS signal, or businesses that want a softer rollout.
Enable the Device Token option per site to add a second layer on top of geofencing. Only devices physically registered by a manager via the Kiosk Shortcut panel can punch — even if someone is standing in the right location on an unregistered phone, they're blocked. Geofencing + Device Token together is the strongest protection available.

Register staff with a name, site, and 4-digit PIN. Optionally add emails for automated reports.
Point any tablet or PC at the clock page, log out of admin, and employees clock in with their PIN.
